Sarah Hill David

Sarah Hill David is a Vancouver Island artist living in the town of Qualicum Beach, having moved to the West Coast from Ontario 25 years ago. Her work is tactile and expressive and finds its roots in nature. She is inspired by details and slices of her everyday environment, specifically the colours, shapes and textures. Equally inspiring for her is the freedom found in children’s art where she encapsulates the essence of their inhibitions in the early stages of her creative process. Interwoven with this playful discovery, are her more formal realistic techniques and design sensibilities, resulting in a style that exists somewhere between abstract and representational. 

Nature is the fuel for her life and inspiration for her artwork. She enjoys painting from intuition, working with acrylics, utilizing materials on hand and mixing media to create something unexpected. Through her art, she finds peace of mind and a connection to her everyday.
