Code of Conduct
All employees, volunteers and resident artists of TOSH are expected to help create and maintain an inclusive, respectful and accessible arts centre by:
a) treating others at and about the arts centre with respect and fairness regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, socio-economic status, mental health status or other protected status under federal or provincial legislation;
b) treating others at and about the arts centre free from harassment, bullying, abusive language, threats, and oppression;
c) working together with others at and about the arts centre in a spirit of openness, honesty and transparency that encourages engagement, collaboration and respectful communication;
d) promoting TOSH and its programs, collaborators and partners in a positive manner;
e) complying with the current constitution and bylaws of TOSH and the current policies and procedures established from time to time by the board of directors;
f) speaking and acting in a lawful manner and in the best interests of the arts centre;
g) speaking or acting on behalf of TOSH only when authorized to do so by the executive director, the president or the board of directors;
h) maintaining TOSH’s confidentiality and not disclosing TOSH’s confidential information; and
i) if speaking or acting on behalf of TOSH, avoiding perceived and actual conflicts of interest.
All employees, volunteers and resident artists of TOSH are asked to communicate any complaints, problems or breaches of this Code of Conduct, either anonymously or otherwise, by:
a) a written report submitted to the executive director or the front desk of the arts centre;
b) requesting an in person or digital meeting with the executive director; or
c) lodging a report by email to: info@theoldschoolhouse.org.
