Living in the country it’s hard not to be aware of the incredible liveliness everywhere. Bolliger is often amazed by the multiple levels of simultaneous occurrence; from the atomic to the galactic, the visible to the unseen.
What does it mean to be alive? How does stardust become a rose?
These works allude to the moment when a life form becomes animate, the viewpoint can be from a macro or micro perspective - this organic alchemy can be happening in the sky, in our bloodstream or in the soil beneath our feet. These re-imaginings are constantly manifesting around us.
