THE DAILY
An Exhibition from TOSH’s Resident Artists
We asked our resident artists - How do you find beauty in the ordinary?
The Daily – an exhibition that shows us the rituals and routines of daily life, the unsung hero or unexpected connections, the rhythm of time that shows our daily lives.

I walk at Rathtrevor most days and this painting is of the old orchard trees there. My time in the park is as necessary as breathing to me. The beauty of the place gives me strength and centres me. I’m so grateful for this beautiful piece of nature.

19.5x19” framed
block print

My art is primarily inspired by nature, so trees figure prominently in the various media I use to create. Even some of my jewelry pieces feature trees. This original scene inspired me due to the different types of barks on evergreens as seen on a rainy day. I was on site, finishing a plein air painting in oils when the light pierced through the branches. Photos preserved the scene, then I returned home to carve this block.

The white picket fence is an iconic symbol of suburbia. And while it might seem trite, there’s just something very appealing about them and what might be over them.
