Artist Statement
In his latest collection of paintings, Jim channels his concern for the global water crisis into his art. With increasing water shortages and contaminated supplies, he hopes to remind viewers of the vital role water plays in our lives. Through his paintings, he draws attention to the beauty and importance of water and reminds us that water is too valuable to be taken for granted.

The banks of the creek display some of the harmony and cooperative interactions of the forest. The water’s erosive forest is buffered with exposed rocks, meshed roots, slippery plants, all stabilizing the path of the river, harmonizing it with the forest.

These sturdy plants thrive just above the crashing waves of the winter storms. In early June the wild roses burst into bloom and release their perfume. Following the walking path that winds behind the roses, one must stop, breathe deep and capture the enchanting scent.
