Two of Vancouver's finest young, professional classical musicians will open our fall series with a fascinatingly varied program featuring works by Poulenc, Schumann, Beethoven, Frank Bridge and Nikolai Kapustin.

The Vince Mai Quartet

Back by popular demand, this highly respected member of the Vancouver jazz scene will treat us to his tasteful and lyrical interpretations of well-known standards, eternal gems of the jazz repertoire and original compositions. With Ron Hadley-piano, Rick Kilburn-bass and Damian Graham-drums.

Daniel Cook and The Radiators

"Daniel Cook and The Radiators" is an original West Coast roots group from Victoria, BC. that features  the well-crafted song writing of leader Daniel (guitar, vocals), whose contagious melodies and timeless stories are blended into a tasty mix of indie-folk, funk and country.

With Roger Plant-lead guitar, Ryan Rock-bass and Robert Cromwell-drums

Tenor Benjamin Butterfield and Bruce Vogt, piano

Benjamin Butterfield, who has been praised by The New York Times as, “clarion-voiced and vibrant”, enjoys an international career as one of Canada's most successful and sought-after artists and is known for his performances throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He is joined today by University of Victoria Piano faculty member and internationally acclaimed pianist Mr. Vogt in  what is certain to be a delightfully diverse and engaging afternoon of song as well as solo piano works by Schubert and Brahms.

Yu Eun Kim, violin and Wayne Weng, piano

This superb duo, both of whom have already forged esteemed international reputations on their respective instruments and are now completing advanced graduate performance degrees in Los Angeles and New York, will bring us a delectable program featuring works by Beethoven, Ravel, Bach and Schubert.

Be sure not to miss these two outstanding Vancouver classical musicians as they take us on an enchanting journey across a wide spectrum of gorgeous music from all over the world that will include works by Bach, Mozart, Giuliani, Ravel, Debussy, Ibert, Takemitsu, Piazzolla and Saint-Saëns.

Hugues Leclère, piano

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the passing of Claude Debussy, and there can be no better celebration than to listen to the exquisite interpretations of this grand composer offered by the French pianist Hugues Leclère, who teaches at the Royal Brussels Conservatory and has performed in the USA, Canada, Japan, China, Thailand, France, Netherlands, Germany, Russia, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The Sarah Kennedy Quartet

This remarkable, young Vancouver-based vocalist who has performed throughout Canada and Europe is known for her sweet and flirtatious stage presence and her light and smooth vocal tone that extends over an impressively wide range. Her vast and varied repertoire will, on this Remembrance Day, include well-loved tunes that poignantly observe the occasion.

Liam Hockley, clarinet and Scott Meek, piano

This is a musical collaboration that we have been eagerly trying to arrange for some time now. These two extraordinary, young Vancouver-based players will entrance you with an absorbing program of twentieth century Clarinet Sonatas: works by Camille Saint-Saëns (1921), Mieczysław Weinberg (1945), William Alwyn (1962), and Francis Poulenc (1963).

One of Vancouver's finest jazz and Latin music guitarists, Daryl has played all over the world and maintains a busy schedule as a  performer, studio musician, composer, producer, musical director and teacher.  With Ron Hadley-piano, Rick Kilburn-bass and Buff Allen-drums.
